Emiliano Ramieri (BSc/MSc Environmental Sciences) is MSP Expert of the European MSP Platform for Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece and Cyprus. He has more than 15 years’ experience on environmental and territorial studies on marine and coastal systems. Currently, he is consultant of UNEP-MAP PAP/RAC contributing to the development of the Conceptual Framework for MSP in the Mediterranean and is involved in the MSP-related Horizon2020 Project MUSES: Multi-Use in European Seas as coordinator of case studies on multi-use. In 2012-2014 he coordinated WP4 on MSP of the SHAPE project aiming to develop ICM and MSP processes and tools for the Adriatic Sea in a cross-border perspective. In 2011 he coordinated two EC DG ENV studies supporting the impact assessment towards a follow-up proposal to the EU ICZM Recommendation that also contributed to the MSP Directive. His recent interest includes the implementation of coastal and marine policies in the Adriatic-Ionian Region in the framework of EUSAIR strategy. Competences on ICM and MSP are coupled with a long experience on climate change vulnerability assessment and adaptation in coastal and marine systems. He is member of the European Topic Centre on Climate Change Adaptation, acting as key expert on coastal and marine issues.
