There is a growing concern about the impact of human made noise on maritime life. The sources not only are the ships machinery but also seismic operations, offshore industrial activities, building activities, dredging etc.
Designing for low underwater noise. Hull, propeller and machinery of ship still are a major contribution to underwater noise, so designing for low noise is a challenge, not only for naval ships but for ships in general.
