The seminar held in Brussels will bring together the JPI Oceans Management Board, Advisory Board and key stakeholders to discuss the OECD Future of the Ocean Economy report. The objectives of the seminar are to:
- present the main results of the OECD Future of the Ocean Economy report.
- discuss the report’s recommendations with stakeholder representatives.
- address how the EU and its Member States can take lessons learned forward.
- present the future of the OECD Ocean Economy Project.
In the panel sessions following the presentation of the report, participants will discuss the perspectives of ocean based industries and the lessons learnt for integrated ocean management and public research and innovation policy.
The seminar is held on the eve of the 12th Management Board meeting at which the JPI Oceans member countries will discuss the future challenges of the oceans, and the potential role of JPI Oceans. Participation in the seminar is by invitation only.
